Corn Fodder makes great nesting material because it absorbs less moisture than straw or grasses. This bag is enough for at least 4 large gourds or 6 medium gourds. Help the birds by putting some corn fodder in the gourd. They'll be very happy with you. Nest building is hard work for the birds and they spend huge amounts of energy doing it.

Note: Corn Fodder is the whole corn plant minus the kernels - roughly chopped. It needs to be broken up into smaller pieces no longer than about 2 inches in length. Only use a thin layer (no more than 1 inch thick) in the bottom of the gourd. The birds will do the rest. Overfilling the gourd with corn fodder may prevent birds from using the gourd or add extra work for the birds to clear some of it out. In an effort to reduce packaging materials, corn fodder will be bulk packaged if you order more than 1 bag.
